凱文·凱利（1952 年生）是美國作家與編輯，1993 年以創刊執行編輯的身分協助推出《Wired》，至今仍挂著該刊「Senior Maverick」的頭銜。在那之前，他曾為史都華·布蘭德編輯《全球目錄》與《Whole Earth Review》，並參與創辦最早的線上社群之一 The WELL。從《失控》（1994）、《科技想要什麼》（2010）到《必然》（2016），他一貫主張：科技最好被讀成一個有自己傾斜的完整生命系統——他稱之為 technium——它的大方向是必然的，即使細節並不是。談到 AI，他是刻意的多元論者：沒有一種智慧，只有許多種；可能心智的空間極大，而人的心智並不在它的中心。他也認為，奇點不在前方，而是早已發生中，只是身在其中看不見——就像當初的語言。
