David Deutsch 是英國籍以色列裔物理學家，任職於牛津大學，被廣泛認為是量子計算之父。他 1985 年描述通用量子圖靈機的論文，奠定了整個領域的理論基礎。他共同發展了 Deutsch-Jozsa 演算法，這是最早證明量子電腦能以指數級優勢超越傳統電腦的示範之一。在物理學之外，Deutsch 也是極具原創性的認識論者——他的著作The Fabric of Reality 與 The Beginning of Infinity 主張，好的解釋是一切進步的關鍵。
