理查·道金斯（Richard Dawkins）是英國演化生物學家，1941 年生於肯亞奈洛比。他以《自私的基因》（The Selfish Gene，1976）一書聲名大噪，該書普及了以基因為中心的演化觀，並首創「迷因」（meme）一詞。1995 年至 2008 年間，他出任牛津大學首屆西蒙尼科學普及教授。2006 年出版的《上帝的迷思》（The God Delusion）成為新無神論運動的催化之作。
